CREDIT QUESTION, Will This Restore My Credit?
i have two credit card charge offs for 700 each, a cable bill for 300, and some other thing for 63 dollar showing as delinquent on my credit report, i already payed my jewelry charge off and my alltel charge off, and i plan to go ahead and pay my other charge offs within two months, since i still live at home and have no other bills, i just recently got denied for three cards, i know it was stupid to apply, but i wanted to start rebuilding my credit, i do have stafford loans but i don’t have to pay them back now cause i am still in school, so i figured that i won’t apply for credit, i will just start paying on my student loans now and i was thinking about getting a secured credit card at my bank, will this help my credit by doing all of this, by next august when i finish school i want to get a car

Paying all bills on time or early for the rest of your life will slowly increase your credit score! NEVER make a late payment again! ! ! Not even on something small. Pay early when you can too!

TIME and good habits are the only thing that help NOTHING will do it quick! ! ! NOTHING! ! ! So don’t fall for the adds about “fixing” your credit quick! ! !

The best thing you can do is to pay off the debts you have, especially the delinquent debts and never make a late payment again.

Once you pay off your delinquent debts, make sure your credit report reflects those changes at all three major credit reporting bureaus.

You don’t need a credit card to build your credit score. If you don’t absolutely need one, don’t get one.

If your credit score is that bad now, you probably aren’t going to be to full credit health by August 2010, but you should have made great gains by then and a car loan might just be possible at a decent interest rate. That loan, if paid on time everytime will do more to restore your credit than a credit card.

Getting married doesn’t take away your bad credit. The best way to rebuild your credit is to make sure that you pay your debts off, so maybe call the companies you owe and make a payment schedule you can afford to stick to on a regular basis. Log onto freecycle.org and find yourself a push bike for free, cos you can’t afford a car or the other costs involved.
Please take heed, get rid of your debts now before they take over and dictate the rest of your life.
If you haven’t saved the cash to buy that something special, then you don’t need it.

There is no quick fix to repairing your credit score.

Best bet is to pay off any existing balances as soon as possible. Work on the smallest balance first. Pay minimum balances on the others and pay as much as possible to the one card first until it’s paid off. Then move on to the next card.

The best way to improve your credit is to carry a small balance, but make sure that you make the payments in a timely matter.

Honestly you don’t really need to rely on credit for that much save a house (and that’s debatable) . Besides that you should learn the art of saving up for things you want. It’s too easy these days to get out of control with credit and end up in more debt. As most people know debt is generally bad. Our society puts to much emphasis on credit scores. You can live without debt, but you need to learn how to save, patience (instead of instant gratification — example : charging that big screen tv and having the instant gratification as opposed to having patience and saving for it for months until you have the cash to buy it), and most importantly self control (do you REALLY need the big screen RIGHT NOW? I mean it will only promote you sitting on the sofa anyway).

In the end you have already learned how easy it is to get into trouble with debt. So try to avoid it in the future whenever possible.
